Earth Friendly

We always offer high quality products so as to guarantee the enjoyment and health of our clients. We also recognize that our responsibility does not stop there, therefore we have implemented several initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint of the our stores.

• In season, the majority of produce available in our store is grown naturally or organically and comes from a maximum radius of 100 km around Montreal
• We practice selective sorting to be able to recycle a maximum amount of cardboard, bottles and empty containers
• We offer free biodegradable and recyclable bags made of 100% recycled paper.
• Our Latina branded Mason jars are collected in store. Once washed and sterilized, they are reused.
• Each order made on our online website is delivered by a company using tricycles.

Community

Latina supports various neighbourhood events. In the past, we have had the pleasure of giving a helping hand to the YMCA and the elementary schools Lambert-Closse, Querbes and Laurier. Our team also takes its own charitable initiatives such as La grosse moustache, a beer brewed in collaboration with Brasseurs Illimités and the Metropolis Coffee Company. In only two years, this initiative has generated a $17.600 donation to help fund prostate cancer research at Montreal’s Cancer Institute. Since 2012, Latina Mile End has also been hosting the first permanent Givebox. Implemented by Local Montreal Tours, the Givebox is a place where you can give or take all kinds of unusual and wacky finds. These items then travel from one person to another and encourage neighbours to share, recycle, and discover.
